KORE+ Pilates Teacher Training

Hybrid Learning Online/In-Person Workshops
Mat, Reformer, Trapeze, Tower, Ladder Barrel,  Chair +more

No Experience Required.

How it works

If you are new to Pilates, It is best to  start with the 100hr Mat Pilates programme before studying reformer or further advanced apparatus. If you are already Mat/Reformer qualified, and only want to study advanced apparatus - you will not qualify for NCPC certification, rather you will receive a professional certification from PEI x KORE+

Our 500hr pilates programme pathway is divided into three stages:

  • 100hr Mat Pilates

  • 160hr Reformer Pilates

  • 190hr Advanced Apparatus

Each stage builds progressively toward comprehensive certification, but they also provide standalone teaching competencies along the way.

The 100hr Mat Pilates qualification is a standalone certification and allows you to teach Mat Pilates professionally once completed. This covers foundational Pilates principles, anatomy, movement mechanics, exercise programming, cueing, modifications, and teaching methodology for mat-based classes.

The 160hr Reformer qualification also allows you to teach Reformer Pilates professionally once completed. You would be qualified to teach general Reformer classes independently at this stage. The purpose of this module is to develop a much deeper understanding of apparatus-based teaching, spring resistance, programming, client adaptation, and practical teaching skills specific to the Reformer.

The 190hr Advanced module is not required in order to begin teaching Reformer classes. Instead, it is the final stage that moves you into fully comprehensive Pilates education. This includes the wider Pilates apparatus system (Chair, Cadillac/Tower, Barrels, and advanced applications), alongside more complex programming, rehabilitation considerations, and advanced movement understanding.

In practice, the pathway works like this:

  • After the 100hr Mat module → you can teach Mat Pilates professionally.

  • After the 160hr Reformer module → you can teach both Mat and Reformer professionally.

  • After completing the 190hr Advanced module → you become comprehensively trained across the full Pilates system.

However you can study the programmes individually and gain professional certification.

The full 500hr pathway is designed to align with the higher standards expected internationally within comprehensive Pilates education and also supports eligibility toward the NCPT examination pathway through our education partner, the Pilates Education Institute (PEI).

We intentionally structure the programme progressively because we believe confident teachers are built through depth of understanding, practical experience, and mentorship — not simply quick certification.

It’s also important to note that Pilates in the UK is currently an unregulated industry, meaning there is no single government-issued licence required to teach. In practice, insurance providers assess whether a teacher has completed appropriate training for the modality they wish to teach. Insurance is attainable for accredited NCPC programmes of which PEI curriculum is recognised.

This means that upon successful completion of the 100hr Mat module, graduates are able to obtain insurance to teach Mat Pilates, and upon completion of the 160hr Reformer module, graduates are typically able to obtain insurance to teach Reformer Pilates.

The Advanced 190hr module is therefore not a requirement to begin teaching professionally, but rather the final stage toward becoming comprehensively trained across the full Pilates system and working at a more advanced level.

NCPC (Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher) credential holders in the UK can easily secure specialist insurance. Since the NCPC is globally recognised, UK insurers treat it just like other advanced certifications.

How to Earn the NCPT Credential

NCPT Mat Pilates Certification

The NPCP (National Pilates Certification Program) offers a dedicated 100-hour Mat Pilates certification pathway designed to assess entry-level teaching competency and foundational Pilates knowledge.

The examination evaluates understanding in:

  • anatomy and biomechanics

  • exercise technique and execution

  • teaching modifications and progressions

  • professional standards and ethics

Successful completion awards a nationally recognised certification to teach Mat Pilates.

To become an NCPT-certified Pilates teacher, candidates must complete comprehensive Pilates education and successfully meet the following requirements:

  • Complete Comprehensive Training
Undertake a minimum of 450 hours of Pilates teacher training across the full Pilates system, including Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Barrels, through a recognised education programme.

  • Apply & Pass the Examination
Submit proof of training eligibility to the NPCP and successfully pass the National Certified Pilates Teacher examination — a standardised 150-question multiple-choice assessment.

  • Maintain Your Credential
NCPT certification is maintained through ongoing Continuing Education Credits (CECs), ensuring teachers continue to develop their knowledge and professional practice throughout their career.

    Our Education Partner

  • Pilates Education Institute (PEI) is a recognised comprehensive Pilates education provider whose programmes support the educational standards required for NCPT eligibility.

Why Teach Reformer Pilates?

Reformer Pilates combines resistance, support, and precision to create an intelligent full-body movement system. Teaching Reformer allows instructors to deliver highly adaptable sessions that challenge strength, stability, flexibility, balance, and control while remaining accessible to a wide range of abilities.

For clients, the Reformer offers both support and resistance, helping them move with greater awareness and efficiency. It can assist rehabilitation, improve posture, build confidence, and develop deep muscular strength without high-impact training. From beginners and active ageing clients to athletes and postural rehabilitation, Reformer Pilates remains one of the most versatile and in-demand modalities within the industry.

Why Teach Mat Pilates?

Mat Pilates is where every great teacher begins. It develops your understanding of movement, control, alignment, breath, and body awareness without relying on equipment. Teaching Mat allows you to work with a wide range of clients, from complete beginners to advanced movers, while building strong foundations in cueing, observation, and exercise progression.

For clients, Mat Pilates improves strength, posture, mobility, coordination, and core control using minimal equipment, making it one of the most accessible forms of movement practice. It can be adapted for rehabilitation, athletic performance, stress reduction, and everyday wellbeing, making it a valuable skill set for any modern Pilates teacher.

Why Teach Chair Pilates?

The Pilates Chair is compact, dynamic, and incredibly effective for developing strength, balance, coordination, and functional movement patterns. Teaching Chair Pilates expands your ability to challenge clients in standing, seated, and rotational work while introducing more athletic and integrated movement sequences.

For clients, the Chair builds lower-body strength, postural control, stability, and confidence in movement. It is particularly beneficial for improving balance, gait mechanics, and functional strength, making it valuable for both rehabilitation and advanced conditioning. Despite its small footprint, the Chair delivers a powerful and highly adaptable full-body workout.

Why Teach Ladder Barrel?

The Ladder Barrel offers a unique approach to spinal mobility, flexibility, strength, and movement awareness. Teaching Ladder Barrel work allows instructors to support clients in developing extension, rotation, lateral flexion, and articulation with greater precision and support.

For clients, the apparatus can improve posture, spinal mobility, breathing mechanics, flexibility, and overall body awareness. It encourages movement quality over intensity and is particularly effective for opening the body after prolonged sitting, reducing tension, and supporting healthy movement patterns. The Ladder Barrel also brings a more classical and refined dimension to Pilates training.

Why Teach Tower & Trapeze Table?

The Tower and Trapeze Table represent some of the most comprehensive and therapeutic elements of the Pilates system. Teaching this apparatus develops a deeper understanding of assisted movement, resistance training, rehabilitation principles, and advanced exercise programming.

For clients, the springs provide both support and challenge, allowing exercises to be adapted for rehabilitation, mobility, strength, athletic conditioning, and nervous system regulation. The Tower and Trapeze Table can help improve spinal alignment, joint mobility, muscular balance, coordination, and body awareness while creating a highly individualised movement experience.

For teachers, this apparatus elevates your ability to work intelligently with complex movement patterns, postural presentations, and specialised client needs, making it an essential part of comprehensive Pilates education
